2017 Chery ARRIZO5
The 2017 Chery Arrizo5 is an excellent choice in the compact sedan segment owing to its impressive design and advanced interior features. This new car is powered by a 1.5L petrol engine paired with a CVT gearbox, which delivers 116 horsepower and 148 Nm of torque.
The cabin offers a T-shaped center console, which incorporates an infotainment display in the center and an air-conditioning system. The infotainment system allows cell-phone interconnection through USB or WIFI. The power steering encompasses mounted controls to easily change the volume or answer calls while driving. The trunk can store 430 liters, which lets you carry big bags easily.
The 2017 Chery Arrizo5 also has latest safety equipment including an advanced airbag system, tire pressure monitoring system, dynamic assisting parking camera, ABS, traction control, hill start assist and more. It has even received a 5-star safety rating from NCAP.
The price starts at AED 39,900 and is available at showrooms across UAE.
2017 GMC Acadia
The 2017 GMC Acadia made its world debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show and later made its way into the GCC markets. It is available in 3 trim levels namely SLE, SLT and Denali.
It is equipped with a standard 3.6L V6 engine paired with a 6-speed transmission system which churns out 310 horsepower and 271 lb.-ft of torque. Besides offering a phenomenal off-road performance, the 2017 Acadia also delivers an impressive fuel economy of 11.7 L/100 KM.
The standard technological features include an 8-inch touch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, USB port, navigation system and a key-less entry system. It also encompasses modern safety technologies, such as, side blind zone alert, rear park assist, rear cross traffic alert and a rear vision camera.
The base model costs AED 129,900, while the top-of-the-line Denali variant costs AED 199,900.
2017 Porsche Cayenne S and S Diesel Platinum Edition
The platinum editions for the standard Porsche Cayenne are already available in the GCC region, and now the platinum versions of the Cayenne S model have also been launched.
Since the platinum editions only include visual updates, the powertrain remains the same as the regular Cayenne S, which is a twin-turbo six-cylinder engine spinning out 420 horsepower. The S Diesel carries a twin-turbo V8 unit creating 380 horsepower.
The platinum editions boast stylish new 21-inch Cayenne Sport Edition wheels along with bi-xenon headlights and Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). On the inside, it features luxurious 8-way powered Alcantara seats and new technologies including Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, BOSE surround system and a rear parking assist.
The pricing details are yet to be revealed.
2017 Geely Emgrand X7 Sport
Although the SUV markets in the GCC region are dominated by the likes of Toyota and Land Rover, the new 2017 Geely Emgrand X7 Sport has joined the competition has been received very well in the UAE.
The first batch was already sold to the customers via pre-booking even before the SUV made its debut in the region. The 2017 Geely Emgrand X7 Sport SUV encompasses a muscular body with sharp character lines. The interior features some impressive technologies such as an 8-inch touch display, smart-phone integration, iGO navigation system and more.
Powering the Geely Emgrand X7 Sport is a 2.4L naturally aspirated engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that spawns 155 PS and 225 Nm of torque. The base trim starts at AED 59,995.
2017 Audi TT RS Coupe
The 2017 Audi TT RS Coupe was showcased in Dubai last year in November after its official debut at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show.
In terms of design, the 2017 Audi TT RS Coupe boasts a stunning exterior featuring a new and enhanced honeycomb grille, stylish LED headlamps, Matrix OLED taillights, a rear wing and dual exhaust tips. The interior offers new and high-end technologies including the Audi Virtual cockpit, MMI infotainment system, voice recognition, WIFI connectivity, smart-phone connectivity and the Bang & Olufsen Sound System.
The price starts at €66,400 in the international, however the price for the UAE market is not listed on the Audi’s site.
Upcoming New Cars in UAE
2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
For those who have not been fully satisfied with Camaro’s performance should strictly wait for the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, as it is dubbed as the fastest Camaro ever built by the automaker.
The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will be powered by a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine developing up to 650 horsepower. This whopping power can take it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. The engine will be paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. It is also expected to feature advanced performance related technologies for an amazing drive such as Magnetic Ride suspension, Performance Traction Management, Electronic Limited-slip Differential, Custom Launch Control and Driver Mode Selector.
The Camaro ZL1 is expected to go on sale in the UAE in the coming few months. The pricing details are unknown yet.
2017 Bentley Continental Supersports
The 2017 Bentley Continental Supersports is the fastest and the most powerful vehicle ever built by the automaker. It was unveiled at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show.
The Bentley Continental Supersports is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W-12 engine, which churns out 700 horsepower and 1,106 Nm of torque. Bentley claims it can go from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds, while the top speed is capped at 336 km/h. The body features carbon fiber elements including a large carbon fiber rear spoiler, which not only adds to the sporty persona of the car, but also improves the aerodynamics.
On the inside, the 2017 Continental Supersports boasts a luxurious interior with Alcantara seats featuring a unique diamond quilted pattern, Alcantara headlining, sport pedals and an exclusive sport steering wheel.
Bentley has not announced the pricing details for the GCC markets, but we can expect it to cost around AED 1.2 million. It will most likely arrive later this year or sometime in 2018.
2017 Skoda Kodiaq
The 2017 Skoda Kodiaq SUV made its debut at the 2016 Paris Auto Show and is now up for sale in the international markets. It is available in five and seven seat configurations, and competes with the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Nissan X-Trail.
The standard Skoda Kodiaq carries a 1.4L turbo-engine with 123 horsepower mated to a six-speed manual transmission system. The standard features include LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, an infotainment system with Smartlink technology, keyless entry system and more.
In terms of size, the 2017 Skoda Kodiaq is longer than most of its rivals, which means it offers more interior space. The overall weight of the SUV stands at 1,452 kg.
The Skoda Kodiaq is expected to officially launch in the UAE this summer. However, we do not know the pricing details yet.
2018 Dodge Durango SRT
The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT has been the talk of the town owing to its spectacular design and powerful engine. It was unveiled at that 2017 Chicago Auto Show and is dubbed as “the most powerful three-row SUV”.
The new 2018 Durango SRT is equipped with a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine yielding 475 horsepower and 637 Nm of torque. The same powertrain also powers the Dodge Challenger and will allow the Durango SRT to go from 0 to 97 km/h in just 4.4 seconds.
In terms of size, the 2018 Durango SRT SUV is longer than its rival Grand Cherokee. It is also more powerful and quicker. It has a towing capability of 3,900kg, whereas the Grand Cherokee SRT can tow up to 3,265kg. Other performance features include Bilstein adaptive suspension system and Six-piston Brembo brake calipers.
The cabin offers new technologies encompassing a digital instrument cluster, SRT sports steering wheel, an 8.4-inch UConnect infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality.
The 2018 Dodge Durango SRT is set to launch in the market during the fourth quarter of 2017. The pricing details have not been announced yet. We can expect it to arrive in the UAE sometime in 2018.
2017 Jeep Compass
The 2017 Jeep Compass was revealed in November last year at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It rides on the stretched version of the same platform being used by Jeep Renegade and the Fiat 500x.
The 2017 Compass will be available in four trim levels namely Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk. It will be powered by a 2.4L four-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower. The automaker promises that it would deliver 30 mpg (12.8 km/L) fuel economy. The engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission system. The Trailhawk trim will feature an increased ride height and an enhanced all-wheel drive setup for better off-road performance.
The new Compass will also encompass the latest UConnect infotainment system with smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will also include modern safety features such as forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear-cross traffic alert and a rear-view camera.
The UAE regional launch is expected to take place by the end of this year.
